| Question: Does one list the name of a deceased parent on the invitation? As example: Mr. Robert and the late Naomi Stein. Answer: It is best to include those who are hosting the wedding on the invitations. In regard to a deceased loved one, many couples choose to include a special tribute to the deceased loved on in the wedding ceremony program brochure. Some even make a special tribute to the loved one during the wedding ceremony, (example: a special candle lighting ritual during the ceremony, or special flower arrangement placement, etc.). You may always include a deceased parent's name in the wedding newspaper announcement. Example: Tara Simpson, the daughter of Tom Simpson, and the late Sally Simpson. Question: Hi. My stepson's wedding is on a Saturday afternoon in October and I'm not sure what to wear. My husband will be wearing a tux. Should I dress formally (as in full length gown) to match him? This seems ostentatious in the afternoon so I've been avoiding the full length option. Am I correct in this? Thank you. Answer: Thank you for your question. If the wedding & reception will run into the later hours of the evening (after 6pm), and it is indoors, it is recommend that you follow your husband's style in a more formal full-length dress. If the wedding & reception will not run into the later evening hours (after 6pm), then you may wear a dress that is of a shorter length (full-length is always optional). If the wedding & reception will run into the later evening hours (after 6pm), but is an outdoor event, you may wear a shorter length (full-length optional) as well. I hope this helps. |
